All in One Readiness for Your New Reader? {Review}

Who failed to teach her kids the months of the year and how to count by fives, this lady! Not to worry, Starfall Education Foundation has me covered with The Starfall Home Membership. Being an unconventional homeschooler is great, but there are always things that fall through the gaps. Like my experience with the months of the year. Sometimes, you don’t even realize you have missed a pretty important fact. With this educational learning game, they play, learn and reinforce what we have already covered in our school time and more.

Starfall
The Educational Game That Has You Covered

Starfall Education Foundation is an app based learning program deisgned for little learners. It has been a fun reward educational “game” for my kids to play during our transition times in our homeschool day. My first and second grade kids get to play while they learn. I love knowing that they are covering important milestones at the same time. Just ask them about the “days of the week song.” They didn’t even know they were learning while they were singing, but they know spaghetti day is Tuesday and soup day (Wednesday) follows it. And I know I have that fact covered. Check!

Math Facts and More

Seriously; beans, balls, cars, whatever you use, manipulatives are sometimes a mess. Take a break from the clutter and chaos and focus on learning that is simplified. Starfall makes it fun to learn and gives your kids the visual cues they need to make learning easier.

The Learning Game That Gives Your Child Math Success

Kids love educational games as much as they love winning. No one wins in a math booklet. It is just a fact. I am not saying that kids should toss math workbooks out the front door, but we could add more wins to their day.

Games make learning fun and help reinforce what you are teaching during the day. If you have a visual learner, interactive games are a great way to finally get a breakthrough with a difficult concept. I wish we had a visual game like this for the time I taught my second son about borrowing in subtraction. It ended with his older brother offering to teach math (14 months older)…and me saying yes!

Worried About Missing Something?
Did I mention that I failed to teach my kids how to count by fives? Yep. It is nice to have a program to fill in the gaps.

Reading Readiness, Before You are Ready?

Is your child showing readiness to read, but your aren’t ready to begin formal teaching time yet. My son taught himself to read with a much smaller game at the age of four. Starfall is a great way to get a jump on learning while making it fun. Sight words can be reinforced with play and your child can click on any word to have it read to them. My kids have already doubled their sight word recognition. You can feel good about their screen time. You could even have a few minutes to make lunch or catch up on the bill pile.

Speaking of the bill pile, you are going to love the fact that Starfall Home Membership is not going to put a dent in your budget. You can get access for a whole year for $35. For less than a pair of sneakers you can have access to their expanded pre-k to 2nd grade reading and math learning tools.

That is not all you will have access to. The new Starfall Parent-Teacher Center is available free for everyone and it includes supplemental custom worksheets, curriculum downloads, informative guides, the latest Starfall news and much more for parents.

More Than Matching and Colors

Look at all of the things your little student can be learning in their first few weeks. You can let them play the educational games independently or you can follow the parent/teachers guide and lead them. You can also order the physical books and make Starfall a robust total curriculum choice. I love little books, and they have adorable character tie-ins you can order as well. It is great to have this much flexibility in a product. You can really choose how you want to use it.

Starfall covers it all.

The Educational Game You Won’t Be Sorry for Purchasing

I love learning games, dont’ get me wrong, but so many have left my kids or myself frustrated. They need coins to play. They don’t last long, or fail to challenge. Starfall Educational Foundation is none of those things. I am thankful we have access to this educational game for a whole year, because I know we are going to be able to use it the whole time.

And, everyone is going to learn the “months of the year” song, just in case I missed anyone else in the family!
