Free Schedule Download & Huge Home Teaching Resource List

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this review or post, but all opinions are our own.

I have learned very well and accountability is what keeps our homeschool moving. In the first year that I was working away from home I continued woking as usual, but our home lessons got away from me. Assignments weren’t getting done when I was not there to oversee our teens. We ended up continuing to school through the summer to make up Math and Science assignments. We had week left to go in the books or had not progressed far enough to be considered completed.

When we begin the new school year I knew I never wanted to do summer school again. I created better accountability systems, clear expectations and made sure the kids knew what the repercussions would be if they did not complete their part of their homeschool assignments. Even though I returned to full-time homeschooling this year creating a check off list for myself and my students has helped me make sure everybody is held accountable for getting their work done including myself. With the closure of the public schools so early in Spring, many parents are going to have to create a new normal. I though I would share this schedule with you and see if it can help create a structure you can work with while teaching lessons at home.

This Schedule Can Flex For You

Even though the schedule was created to use with Sonlight curriculum, I find the subjects are common to most school students. We have worked both four and five day school years. A four day week is ideal if you want to have a less structured day for watching some youtube videos and taking some online courses or just having an arts and craft time and some free-play time built into your life.

I created a rough framework for the daily work of my high school students. It includes under 4 1/2 hours of assigned working time with plenty of room for reading and writing summaries for each assigned subject.

The daily work for elementary students has roughly 3 1/2 hours of parent led instruction time most of which consists of simple short reading times, followed by worksheet or discussion.

The time Frames are always flexible, but I find having an expectation and writing down what we are doing for the day or week helps me to know what we are doing, that way I stay on task.

Below is the link to sign up for my Parent Checkout Sheet which I keep in my own binder and check off as my students turn in their daily summaries, math problems, current events and science assignments.

This download also includes a copy of the FREE Homeschool Schedule for daily work for high school as well as the FREE Homeschool Schedule elementary students.

There is space for you to write the expected work for each subject daily. These are usually put the in front of a portfolio folder with any workbook pages or printables behind it and the whole packet is turned in at the end of the day.
