Embracing You and Your Unique Homeschool | In Due Season Volume 1.8

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this review or post, but all opinions are our own.

Over the last few weeks we talked about two ways to show our children love in our Homeschool time. We are going to wrap up our posts taking about comparison.

I hope you had a chance to sign up and download the free study guide to get the most out of this series while it is up here on the blog. When the series is over these posts will only be available in the full e-course.

I would love to hear your feed back from what you have read so far.

What road blocks have you identified with the most?

Have you found these lessons helpful? Don’t miss the next 3 months of FREE posts, every Monday, by subscribing at the bottom of this post.

In the first lesson, I encouraged you to practice being intentional and focused with significant blocks of time.

I hope you are enjoying greater peace while you focused on instruction without distractions.

Did you give yourself permission to get rid of distractions?

What were some of the things that make your day stumble?

I have a no laundry policy during school. In theory we are right next to the laundry room, but stopping to fold the next load never happens at a good point and only ended up being a chance for the kids to escape to the back yard.

Showing love while we school is one of the unique blessings of homeschooling. In lesson two, I asked you to explore your child’s unique interests and gifts.

We already talked about several ways I was able to incorporate my kids’ interests into our school day. I want you to be inspired to look for ways to incorporate your kids’ interests into your educational plans.

What is one way that you were able to show interest in your child’s talents or found a unique way to add them to some portion of your lesson plan?

I hope that you and your child were encouraged and excited about the idea of making their interests creditable for school.

In the second series of lessons we talk about how comparison will kill your joy

We have learned the significant lesson of embracing a personalized homeschool.

You can read more about Comparison, Maintaining Passion and Finding Your Families Rhythm in the pervious weeks lessons while they are still up on the blog.

Finding the best fit for your family is a challenge, but when you find it, it will fuel your passion and interests. We will be talking about how to avoid the comparison trap in your life as well as build a schedule that works for you. There is no shortage of great advice out there, but the best advice is to find what is working well and maximize it. Don’t feel obligated to change your world drastically to fit homeschooling. It should become a part of the life you are already living.

As a veteran Homeschooler, I can say without a doubt that one of the best skills I have developed is the ability to trust myself.

Trusting my instincts did not come naturally. I have had many missteps along the way that have helped me grow over the last 13 years of homeschooling. I know that with enough fits and starts you will undoubtedly come to a place where you can be confident with your family exactly where you are. If I can help shorten the learning curve along the way, I want to do that for you.

I built In Due Season as an online course with detailed daily journal exercises for you. I wanted every parent to create a personalized map. One that fits you and your unique school with the help from a fellow traveler.

The best advice I can offer is to embrace being you!

[Tweet “Everything everything about you, your quirks, your schedule, and your crazy life”]

If you are like many homeschool families, you might not fit the public-school mold. To be quite honest, in our family, we do not even fit the homeschool mold. I have had a lot of lessons in making comparisons to help me embrace our crazy uniqueness.

Do you think you have found your fit in the world of homeschooling?

Is comparison still a challenge for you? Check out the previous lessons or jump right into the full course to start creating your own road map to the best year yet.

If there is anything I can do to encourage you in your homeschooling journey, don’t hesitate to leave a comment and reach out. This is my hearts desire, to encourage and walk along side of you. I had great women in my life who were leaders in their homeschooling community. They spent huge amounts of time leading others and sharing what they had learned. I gleaned more from them than I could have ever learned on my own, I hope to pass on a fraction of their wisdom to you.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your homeschool journey. You are awesome for working hard to follow this path for your family. Keep pressing forward, helping each other along the way and IN DUE SEASON you will reap a great reward.
