Ahoy, moonlight house keepers!

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this review or post, but all opinions are our own.

I just swept my house, in the dark. It needed to be done. The kids needed to go to bed. The place was really quite a mess. The kind of mess that used to make my husband a little panicky, but he has been around us for a while and knows the difference between literal disaster and a ten minute sweep through. This was bordering on disaster. This was end of ball season, kid sitter, life on the run, birthday party dirty.

I was not so much sweeping, as I was debriding the living room, like a pirate scraping barnacles from the side of his ship. Not for of the love of his ship as we are led to believe in romanticized peg legged adventure movies, but because literally the ship would sink under the weight of a million tiny free loaders, if the work was not done.

Some how cleaning the room with the lights down low made it seem less daunting of a job. Gone was the pressure of saving the handless Lego man, the ace from the current deck of cards, the seven erasers I just gave the kids out of the prize box. Gone, is what they now are.

Good night clean room. Good night handless Lego man. Good night to all the little barnacles in the trash. Sometimes we just need to get the job done, no punch line, no car chase. Just you the mess and ten minutes, maybe, in the dark.

Here is to all of you that had to get the job done. We made it. See you again tomorrow.
