You got an electronic device for the kids, what now?

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this review or post, but all opinions are our own.

I woke up in a panic. The kids had stayed up late watching a movie. I meant to switch off the router when I went to bed, but here I was asleep on the couch. This night watchman gig had to end. I’ve reached the age where my kids can out-weekend me. How could they play safely online, and I still get some sleep?.

This Christmas you might end up the same delima that I had last year

Electronics are an inevitable part of parenting in the 21st century. Yes, the kids want all the newest devices. It is up to you to decide which devices are the most appropriate for you child, but that is not the worst part. The trouble comes shortly after the wrapping paper hits the ground. After dinner, before the dishes have been cleared and Grandma and Grandpa are heading home, all eyes on you. Devices outstretched. They are waiting for you to hook them up to the World Wide Web.

If you are like me, you might be caught off guard by the level of connection necessary

I expected my kids to play Angry Birds, Two Dots and Little Thief. Simple single player games with little need for more than a download once in a while. What I found was the most popular games with my pre-teens involve steadily streamed online access. The top downloaded games right now have real time interaction with other players. Playing requires a steady connection to the internet.

I wasn’t prepared for this level of connection. Fortunately, I had a filter program installed on our computers and was able to install the same program on the older kids Kindles. It was a good temporary fix but with so many devices in the house I needed a program that would fit more than the 10 our current program supported. I needed to ba able to have different levels of filtering and be able to set bed times for each child. The search was on.

Internet safety is a high concern for me. There was only one device that could solve the three major areas I was concerned about.

In this little box is my one device to rule them ALL
Circle filters any device that uses your WiFi signal. No one can hide a device. No one can play after bed time. You set the parameters and filtering setting for each child.

Enter Circle By Disney

I was fortunate to be a follower of one of the developers of Circle and heard about it as it launched. The timing could not have been better. I was paying a yearly fee for Mobicip of $49. I loved the program for our computers and would still recommend them. The trouble was two-fold. We outgrew their coverage; Mibicip limits coverage to 10 devices for the basic plan. Two, it had to be installed onto the device through a physical download. That would not help with devices that came to visit. I don’t know about you, but I am not going through all this trouble to keep my kids safe to have a friend “share” something they found on the internet on their unprotected phone.

You don't have to stay up al night

Sleep peacefully knowing the Internet is Going to Bed When You Tell it To

Circle sets itself apart

Your Circle device captures any device that uses your WIFI signal. Every device gets filtered. No more wondering what the kids are laughing about downstairs, because you set the level of filtering.

There are no limits to the number of devices it can filter. 10, 20 or 127. If you homeschool you know how devices can add up in no time. The home computer, a school computer, a couple of laptops, some Kindles, an old iPod from your cousin, everyone’s phone. 10 devices is increasingly easier to reach than I ever thought possible.

You get all of these features for a one time device purchase 0f $99. No yearly re-enrollments, or price changes. No lapse in coverage or missed devices. Just one simple install and every update comes to you from the App Store just like Instagram or Candy Crush.

I love knowing we are safer with Circle.

I Love the PAUSE button.
Get them to the table, out the door whatever, just pause ’em and watch them come your way.

Next week I will share more about Circle’s features but I wanted to let you know about it before they are all looking to you to hook them up to the internet. You can be ahead of the curve and if you order now you can save $15. Just click this link and save. The more features you have installed when they get their devices, the less you have to police and nag about.

Wishing you electronic Peace for Christmas.
